How to use WiMAX LED on HTC EVO for SMS/MMS notifications!

news to me too!
just installed it and am stoked.
i even left on my regular LED notification for SMS on the left, so now when i get a text it looks like a frickin xmas tree! (plus i chose to have the right LED alternate red and green for the holidays lol)

thanks for the tip.

*EDIT*
i had previously mentioned an issue with the weather updates failing, but as mkampy points out below, this was an HTC weather update problem and has NOTHING to do with wimax notifier.

im fully functional again...and so is my phone ;)

well now hmmmm....

im not going to blame the wimax notifier app, or the one i used to install the apk, but now i seem to be having a launcher issue. luckily im only affected by the inability to update weather. i havent gone into the force close loop....yet.

again, im not blaming either of the apps i installed, but it didnt happen to be prior to doing the wimax notifier thing. could be a fluke.

even a factory reset didnt help me out. any ideas?

for now ill just use beautiful widgets to get my weather.

This was an issue with HTC's weather provider

i was just logging on to update my situation...
you're right kampy...i heard only a little while ago that there was indeed an issue with HTC weather.

so i guess that makes my last post moot...

but boy is beautiful widgets beautiful! :)

Thanks for the tip! Installed it on both my phone and also my wife's. I'm in the healthcare field so sometimes I can't unlock my phone to check every notification but I'll take the time if I can distinguish if it's a text message since those are usually more important like someone already mentioned

I tried to installed both versions of this wimax notifier on my rooted HTC Evo. When I opened up Astro file manager it has no option to install. I tried another file explorer- same thing.

I use astro... it worked just fine..

what do you see when you touch the file?

I find the Wimax app that i downloaded using Astro file, tab on it (wimax app), the Application File dialogue box pops up, tab on Open App Manager, and under Summary- where the information suppose to display along with Install feature is not there. Under Detail it reads- Could not open....as APK file.

I tried numerous times. No success.

Thanks for asking.

Update: uploaded pics... I didn't realized I dimmed my screen with the filter app on...so pics are dimmed.

Yep, did that one I got my phone... I double checked it again and it is checked. And yes, my phone is rooted.

I appreciate your suggestion Dan. Thanks for taking time.

I can;t seem to figure out how to select what sorts of notifications I want to set to the wimax notifier. I got the app installed.

EDIT: I see... so you can't select what you want it for. That's a bummer. Wanted it for texts and google talk :/

the new dev.. just started working on it.. the old dev abandoned it. He is hoping he can make it work for other functions.

If it has not already been mentioned, you MUST delete the old version before installing the new version...
