How to view google contacts via the cloud?

So, I'm assuming that all android contacts (listed under google account contacts) are somehow synced to the google cloud... But how do I check them? I don't see them under google.com/contacts. Thanks.

Hm... therein lies the problem. I don't see all of my contacts there. Is there anything special that needs to be done with my contacts via android? They are already all considered "google contacts" on the phone, and as far as I know, I have the usual sync settings in place....

Make sure your logging into Gmail and not iGoogle.

What type of phone do you have?

Under settings -> accounts & sync the "auto sync" option is checked right?

Then under Gmail make sure "Contacts" is checked also

So you're saying you have more contacts on the phone than gmail on a pc is showing? Are all the contacts on your phone "google contacts" and not "phone contacts"?

Correct... however they were merged into Google contacts via my sim card and facebook... might that have something to do with it?

Well HTC Sense defaults contacts to 'phone' and not Google. So it may be that the ones from the sim and FB are actually only on the phone.
