How to waterproof your SGS2

A few years back I got an otterbox for a windows mobile gps unit, and after digging out the otterbox it is a great fit for my S2. Perfect for Geocaching and it's toddler proof to boot!

Never heard of an "otterbox" before; would it make the phone totally waterproof?

I use and aquapac with mine as I live and work on boats. Its and absolute phone saver. Highly reccomended and the touch screen is still useable. Www.aquapac.com

Totally ludlum as long as you replace the seals every couple of years. Try goigling it! Definitely a great outdoors toy as is quite bulky but hey, hello it works great and looks retro!

NONE of the Otterbox products are waterproof. Maybe splash resistant but not waterproof.

While boating or using the jet ski, I put mine in a HD zip-lock and keep it in a safe place.

Hi - firstly hello! (first post)
I too have been looking for a suitable waterproof case for my GS2 as I spend a lot of time on the water... what I wanted was a waterproof case that I can still listen to music to (via wired headphones) and take photos. Something like an aquapac. Anyway - I emailed a company here in the UK called Overboard asking if they were going to make something like this - this is their response:
"Thanks for your enquiry and are indeed working on such a case,
and will be called the SMART case.

It will allow full use of all functions, including listening to music,
taking photos through the rear window and allow full use of all touch screen
and voice controls. No arm strap will be included though, and will be
available in the next 12 weeks."

So something of an ipod/smartphone waterproof case hybrid it would seem.
This was sent to me at the beginning of May, so shouldn't be too far away.

(note - I have absolutely no association with the company whatsoever - just trying to help out)

in similar situ as need to waterproof my s2 by also be able to listen to music when its in the water. My old case, which fitted my n900 wont fit.

I though have seen a product called "drycase". Its not cheap but looks like it does the job.

Update....

I looked on the otterbox website and the case I have no longer exists. Instead they seem to have gone for more lightweight thinner cases.

Mine is a dinosaur but Is waterproof, and can survive massive drops. Also the size of a house brick.

Your case isn't waterproof unless you can record underwater video with it .... :D
