can someone give me a little tutorial of how the file manager app even works? i want to organize my photos into albums for easy access instead of a folder with a plethora of photos.
if you have a computer available you can just drop your photos into individually named folders within "pictures".
if using file manager-
tap the sd card icon at the top of the screen (if you save to sd. if not just skip this step)
tap "pictures"
tap "camera"
all photos are date (yyyy/mm/dd) and time (24hr) stamped for the name with the standard american format underneath)
to change the name of a photo simply long hold the name untill you get a pop up menu and scroll to "rename" don't forget to leave ".jpg" at the end of the name or it wont open.
to make a folder press menu (real button) and "new folder". name your folder
unfortunately there is no "move" only "copy". this means you will have to manually delete the resulting duplicates.
so now press menu button again and "copy"
you can copy as many pics as you want at once but smaller batches move faster.
once you have "moved" the desired pictures we need to delete those space hogging originals.
again you can multi select, and again smaller batches are faster.
i know this is tedious but if you have no computer then this is pretty much what you can do without root access.
on your computer simply connect usb and drag the status bar down and dock with the usb symbol.
if asked what to do "transfer files".
open the drive like any other card reader or thumbdrive and work from there.
Tokenpoke...I was rearranging pictures today and I used the cut option and if it's all being moved within the SDcard you can just copy and paste one by one and no need to delete just another option not a better one
