Root How would we know if compatibilities exist

How would we know if our Quattros are compatible with any other devices. Example, you can use the cwm for a Huawei Ascend on an M835. Was that a one-time fluke? If not, how would we discover if there were any compatibilities?

it may work but again if its not ment for the phone it might cause a hard brick...always ask someone who has more experience in porting or modifying recovery's and/or roms

I personally wouldn't try this. The huawei ascends recovery was built and added to cwm recovery list of recoveries, I wouldn't try another recovery with this. As far as I know we need the correct partitions and someone to build it for us. Using another recovery could lead to a hard brick .

Biggest problem with the Coolpad is that, its an offbrand phone.. there isn't much known about it.. thats why it took long as hell to get root and devs have been looking into CWM Recoverys with no success.

I don't know if the words get translated right, but when I look up results for the Chinese Yulong phones, they keep talking about "brushing" ROMS. Any idea if we could somehow translate and make use of that?
