How's the screen/display on this?

I've never owned a tablet, and my prior phones were the HTC Thunderbolt and now I have the Note 2, which I love, and people at work have commented on how good video looks on it. At the same time, I have people telling me that the Note 8.0's screen is crap. So, since I like Samsung and using the S-pen and all, can anyone comment for me please?

I have owned two previous (admittedly cheap and not very good) Android 8 inch tablets and I also have an iPad Mini w/Retina Display. Yes the iPad display is better but it's certainly not a deal-breaker by any means. The Note 8 screen is leagues better than the previous Android tablets I had and I rate it highly. But best try and find a demo unit and see for yourself.

of all my tablets the note 8 is the best all rounder. If you only want one device then this is "good enough" in all categories. yes my iPad and Note 10 have better resolutions but it's the sheer size and functionality in the note 8 that makes this the go to device. I've owned both Nexus 7's the Nexus 10 and the Transformer TF101 - there's nothing wrong with the note 8's display.
