HP open sources WebOS

Before CM7 was available, I swore I'd keep using webOS on my TouchPad, but I go days at a time without booting into it. I don't think this announcement is going to change that.

It still comes in handy should your CM7 become unbootable, o/w I don't use mine much.

Guys, what does CM7 offer that WebOS doesn't? I own a Touchpad, but when I first got it there was nothing but rumors of Android coming for it. Now it seems to be coming along, but still says it's in the Alpha stage at the Cyanogen Mod site. Are there any crucial problems with CM7 on Touchpad? I would assume not if you guys are normally using it instead of the WebOS.

It also boots faster than webOS and apps launch quicker. Some apps that are available on both platforms seem to run better on Android (QuickOffice, for instance).

For software being described as an alpha, CM7 is very robust and reliable.

Don't forget you can find free apps on Amazon....

for example... Angry birds, Seasons and Rio are available for free on Android, but only one is available in HD (suitable for tablets) in webOS.
