Just a quick one... i read on XDA thread that H and H+ really drain you're battery life... is this true??

I think it does, but my basis for saying so is that when I turn my data network off I save a lot of battery. But this might just be that any internet connection drains battery regardless of what type/speed your connection is.

Just to save battery in general, I turn my data off when I'm not at work.

Not really.

It depends if you are living in a good HSDPA signal area or not. I have a 4 bar H+ signal at home usually and so therefore my phone is not constantly "seeking" all the time.

If however, you live in marginal area and only set your phone to WCDMA (HSDPA), then your phone will be constantly seeking that signal only.

if in doubt, just leave your phone on GSM/WCDMA and it will pick the best signal. If you get "H" then fine. If you get "H+", even better as your Market and browser will be a lot faster on page loading.

Im debating using H/H+ at work i get like 1 bar of HSDPA if lucky but at home or in the streets i get full... is there anyway i can quickly switch between just use 3G then toggle onto H/H+ i know you can dial *#301279# and change it that way....

Personally, I just leave mine on GSM/WCDMA and just take whatever the strongest signal is wherever I am.

If you want to force your phone to use one or the other...

Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Network mode... and choose which one you want.
