My phone used to show H+ all the time, regardless.

I got roughly 5-6mbps on my iphone 4 in dallas/ft worth....waiting for the inspire to do the same

These are just HSDPA speeds not HSPA+. We should be getting upwards of 7Mbps with HSPA+.
I get 4 down and 1.5 up on a regular basis with 3G here in Houston.

Hello everyone.
New to Inspire 4G, coming from the Samsung Captivate (which had the random powering off issue)...
I was at Radio Shack a few days ago (Upland, California) and the salesman had his HTC EVO 4G on Sprint. I asked if he could run speedtest on his phone and I was amazed! He consistently was at 8 Mbps DL and 3 to 4 Mbps on UL. On my Inspire 4G, the best I've ever obtained was 2.2 Mbps DL and 370 kbps UL. Perhaps thinking his phone was fiddling with the numbers, I had him bring up several websites on his phone brower. They came up before mine even started. AT&T needs to get on the ball and turn 4G on fully. I am in Los Angeles and I called AT&T to ask about the 4G speed and was told that 4G still hasn't been fully turned on on both UP and DL. I was told the 4G speed will be turned on in the LA area during the summer of 2011. They told me they are selling the phones first to get the 4G devices out in the field as quickly as possible. Unbelievable! Whatever happened to truth in advertising?!!?! After telling me about the 4G not being turned on, they apologized. If I had been paid for every time AT&T has apologized to me, I'd be a rich man.

ATT themselves said it would take nearly a year to bring it all on-line. The fanbois who keep saying that it'll all be up this April - if not April 1 - are the real problem and aren't helping, spreading unrealistic expectations.

I was curious... my Samsung Captivate (3G) showed HSDPA when I checked the network info screen. My Inspire 4G also showed HSDPA on the network info screen and it shows the H+ icon on top. I decided to see if my Captivate was just as fast as the Inspire 4G. So I took the SIM card out of the Inspire, put it in the Captivate and ran the speedtest. Guess what! The Captivate was just as fast as the Inspire at approximately 2Mbps DL and 300kbps UL. So... either the Captivate is "4G" or Inspire 4G is really "3G" or AT&T hasn't activated "4G" at all in LA yet.... at least where I live.
4G is not activated yet. the Captivate (and most other 3G phones) is capable of up to 7Mbps (real world less than that) while the "4G" phones such as the inspire are capable of double, sometimes triple that. In other words, as AT&T beefs up the speeds the "4g" phones will start showing a difference. There is also a software update planned for the "4g" phones to significantly increase upload speeds. For now, they are all the same.
No one said that's when it will all be on we have said that's when it starts going on. Maybe if you actually read peoples posts instead of spouting your crap it would be obvious
