Hi, I am trying to determine if a HTC 6200 Eris phone can utilize a 32GB micro SDHC class 10 card? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
According to HTC's documentation for the Eris, the largest sd card supported is 16 GB. I believe that some have been able to get 32GB cards to work, so it *may* work, but it may not.
It could also be because back then 32 GB cards were still very new.
True, but didn't 32 GB cards not really come out until early 2010? If that's the case, Motorola said that either because they knew they were coming soon, or they already knew on paper they would work. Technically, while released at the same time, the Eris was still a much older phone. Since the Eris was essentially a rebranded Hero, which came out mid-2009, they probably just reused the Hero's spec sheet. It could be, but remember that the Eris came out the day after the Droid, and the Droid from the beginning advertised support for 32 GB cards.
fwiw, the old CNET review says 32 gb is supported for the Hero:
...oops as a noob I can't post links.... you can find it with a quick search of the CNET reviews site.
anyway, there's nothing in my pdf manual about max size, just a note that the slot is SD 2.0 compatible.
