Help HTC aria. forgotten google username & password .

hello , my son has forgotten his google username and password. now he is locked out because of to many pattern attempts. can anyone out there help me get back into his phone ? if i have to go back to factory settings. how do you do this? i would appreciate any help you can give me. thank you
