Root HTC Bootloader unlock

callerys

Lurker
Since I am on 2.11.605.9 I wanted to just try the HTC unlock however that doesn't seem to work. I had read that the hboot version needs to be 2.0 or greater?

Is that correct and how can I update that to unlock with HTC?

Thanks

not sure where you heard that,it is not correct info. as long as you have the *locked* hboot of 1.05.0000 htcdev unlock will work. if you have warranty left, however,id pretty strongly reccomend against going that route as it will void "all or parts of your warranty"

you should be able to run an RUU for for 2.11.605.5 to get back to revolutionary-able firmware. there are .exe and PG05IMG files here: http://androidforums.com/thunderbol...underbolt-root-unroot-thread.html#post3272390

if you have no warranty and just want to try it for S&Gs,i can help you,ive htcdev unlocked several phones now. after you flash a recovery, all youll need to do is flash a rooted stock 2.11.605.5 rom,and revolutionary will work again.

i would reccomend running revolutionary after youve played with htc dev for a bit... it offers some distinct advantages. :)

Are you on the correct hboot? Have everything set up in a folder as described, and changed to that folder?

Installed drivers and getting a serial number from "adb devices" ?

I am getting an error while trying to get the identification token as well. I believe my hboot is 1.4. Anyone know what the problem could be? What to you mean by the "correct hboot?" Thanks in advance

i mean this:
as long as you have the *locked* hboot of 1.05.0000 htcdev unlock will work.

;)

if you are on 1.04.0000 you will have to run an ruu to get the 1.05.0000 hboot. i would prolly use 2.11.605.5 rather than 2.11.605.9.

this will wipe your data, wich is not a big deal,as htcdev will wipe your data as well
