HTC Bravo Status

I can honestly say that in the 5+ years i've been with Verizon i have never ONCE dropped a call, in fact i'm almost wondering if there's some technical reason (CDMA vs. GSM) why this doesn't happen with Verizon. I've traveled the whole country including very remote parts and i've had 100% reliable service (and 3G) everywhere. I've even taken the phone out of the country and worried that CDMA would be a big limiting factor and i've always had a great experience. There always seems to be at least one CDMA carrier in the country that i've visited that Verizon has a contract with and they've made it completely seamless. I call and tell them when i'm leaving and they prorate an international data/voice plan for me for the time i'm gone and switch it back when i get back...no issues. And in case this seems overly praising or fanboy, i definitely don't work for Verizon. Here's to hoping Verizon adds another awesome Android phone to an already superior network...

You honestly think Verizon is taking it and not fighting back? Are you serious? Have you not seen any of the coverage map commercials. I'd say that Verizon is dishing out way better attacks than AT&T is. They're not just sitting there taking it AT ALL.

Those commercials about the coverage are what prompted the AT&T to run this whole Luke Wilson AT&T campaign.

Verizon started the "There's a Map for that", then came Luke Wilson.

I don't know why Verizon isn't attacking everything Wilson says in the commercials, half of it is bull and it would be so easy to make AT&T look stupid.

That's what I mean by taking it. Maybe I missed something but all I see are the Luke Wilson commercials with the falling Map, but no Verizon rebuttals.

Probably because at the end of the day, VZW users have had no dropped calls and our using their 3G; while AT&T users are stressed out because they weren't able to have a conversation longer than 20 seconds with their caller and are sitting in an uncomfortable corner in their house trying to get a few bars of 3G.

Yeah, I think the reason there's been no rebuttal is because 1) Verizon is running an advertising campaign and they just can't jump ship on the campaign right in the middle of it and change course and start a new one 2) No one really believes AT&T anyways. Those commercials are ridiculous. I have friends on AT&T who even think the commercials are a STRETCH and are just basically AT&T grasping at straws.

I know what you mean though. I just think it's such a desperate attempt by AT&T that Verizon doesn't even need to counter their ads. That's how ridiculous their ads are. haha I think Verizon should just keep doing their coverage map ads. Those are VERY effective, funny, and most of all...TRUE. I can totally see where you're coming from though man.

It was speculated that the Passion and the Bravo were one in the same. Though I've read the HTC product list, and asserting that Passion is going to T-Mobile, (Even if the Passion C is Verizon's choice) than that could only mean the Bravo indeed will be a Verizon Smartie Pantzzz Phone.

Incredible though is also on the list... Bravo and incredible may not be one in the same. :confused:

OK. First, click on that link you posted. Secondly, look at the top of the article at the date. Thirdly, we forgive you. An honest mistake. This is OLD news, not "BIG" news. Nothing personal, but someone had to say it. Not a big deal though. Honest mistake. Moving on.
 
Although it sounds like most of us are VZW customers on this forum and I know we're talking about the Bravo/Incredible/????, but I just saw this article about the N1 for AT&T on the way:

Idk if that will interest anyone, but is it possible that we could start to see a move by HTC/Google trying to get all phones on all carriers (customer service orientation isn't something we're really used to in the mobile market).

But it may not be one in the same like the Eris and Hero are not one in the same. HTC seems to like to stick with the same processor in the phones for a given year. Hence odds favor a Snapdragon chip. Quite frankly give the phone 512mb of ram and I won't give a damn if its underclocked to 850.

Doesn't really mean much in this particular case. The Devour has been reworked both in terms of hardware and software (educated guess on software). The directional pad we saw before is gone in favor of an optical pad (which makes the thing look worse IMHO) and instead of Android 2.0 it might have 2.1. The Devour was most likely due to launch much earlier (if not the same time as the Droid then not long afterwards) but because of the reworking it was delayed which is why we heard about so long ago and have yet to see it.
 
I keep wondering why these sites still think the Bravo is Passion. I thought it was pretty clear that Passion = Nexus One. Is there anything to connect the Bravo and Passion as the same phone?
 
yes my info in december, but the reason why there is no news anywhere, could be because its changed, but im going with the info i was shown, bravo is the same as the passion, just different regions,ie uk,usa

If all of the other evidence isn't good enough, here is absolute proof:

This appears on google's own web site, and was used on the day that the Nexus One was announced. Passion = Nexus One.

The problem is that people on this forum keep posting about the HTC Bravo in the forum specifically for the HTC Passion. That is the reason for the confusion.
 
^ We just don't hame a home, so we use someone else's temporarily.
