Help HTC Clock/Weather Widget Not Displaying Information.

Wow, this thread ballooned up to a fairly popular one quickly. Thankfully, I have all my HTC Clock/Weather widget functionality back as well.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in on this thread. I appreciate it.

I started having the exact same problem with my Dinc last Saturday, Dec. 11th. Mine still is NOT fixed as of right now........3:08pm local Denver time.

Great substitute fancy Widget and it is free, Here is an image of it, http://www.appbrain.com/app/fancy-widget/com.anddoes.fancywidget

Yeah, that is all I could think of too. Oh well, I hope it comes back up soon. :)

This sort of makes me realize how much I actually rely on that widget. Haha. :D

Which is exactly the widget I plan on using for my non-Sense UI ROMs. Fancy Widgets is a great replacement for the HTC widgets.

I hope that those of you who are using the HTC widget are getting your requisite weather and temperature information again. I am glad mine was finally rectified.

Is anyone seeing this issue again now in Chicago? I've been having it since Friday. Does a factory reset help? Or is it a non-issue and HTC has to fix something? Any suggestions?

Thanks all.

I have not seen this issue occur again since the last time I posted in this thread. A factory reset will most likely not help since it was related to a server issue last time.

I would wait it out for a few more days. In the meantime, have you tried removing the HTC Weather and Clock widget and then putting it back?

I'm in Chicago, and I'm seeing this issue. It's very annoying. Especially since it's only not working for Chicago, whether it's in my current city or add an city. All the other cities are working though. Then it'll also work for one second if I restart my phone, but then go right back to saying "No weather data available" I hope it's something with HTC, but it seems to only be doing it with Chicago on MyTouch 4g's.

I am also in Chicago with an HTC Incredible and this HTC Clock/Weather Widget is not working, updating. Has not been working since Friday evening. It works only after I delete and re-add the Widget to my main screen. But it works up until I do something, like open Gmail or Twitter. Back to Home screen...no more weather/weather updates. I really like this Clock/Weather Widget and check it often for the weather, weather forecast, high/low temps. I have tried several different remedies posted here and eslewhere online and nothing is working, fixing the problem. I hate just waiting for VW, HTC or whomever to figure out it is malfunctioning and then decide to fix it. I am ready to call VW Tech Support on Skype and...crack some skulls!

I have removed and re-added the widget. I'm beginning to believe the outage theory, especially since it's suddenly back to working intermittently in Chicago for the first time since Friday!

What are other people seeing?

Who's responsible for the servers for that widget - just curious, I guess... I'd love to call someone and ask what gives!

It looks like it is an outage based mainly in the Chicago area. If you all just wait it out, I am certain it will eventually be rectified because that is what happened the previous time.

I am not sure who actually runs the servers that updates the HTC Weather and Clock widget. I do think they pull the information from AccuWeather.

So very odd. I just wish the HTC rep I spoke with on Saturday AM had known what to say instead of suggesting a factory reset (which luckily I never got around to doing) or that maybe there was a hardware issue!

Ha, they will always just suggest a factory reset. That is the catch all remedy for all problems.

It is not just relegated to HTC. The same can be said for all manufacturers.

Wow... this is annoying. But it seems widespread enough maybe it'll be remedied quickly. Is this what everyone elses looked like, with the First Assessment label??

step 1: Go to settings

step 2: Go to Accounts & sync

step 3:Find Auto-sync and click it to on or make sure there is a check mark.

You are done, now you have the weather showing & your 4 day forecast!

Good luck

Thank you! Worked Like a charm... I have been dealing with this issue for a week and come to find out it was something this simple? Wow!

Had this happen after my phone crashed. I fixed it by deleting the cache for htc sense and running the setup app again. I had to reset my app links and that but after running setup the part about sharing location with google worked right and I started getting local time and weather again.
