Help HTC Constant Reboot Fix

Did anyone find the HTC (One, One X) constant reboot fix? I have 2 HTCs and both have the same problem. I have done reset and safe mode but none of them help. It is a hardware issue, I think. I don't seem to find any fixes online, they recommend that I take it to the store, however the guarantee ran out. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Did you root or try to root either phone?

Have you tried holding volume down and power for up to 30 seconds to force a power reset on the One X?

And that could be volume up and power for the One, depending on the model.

Btw, this is not a known defect on stock phones.

No, I haven't rooted it. I did power reset, no help. It's AT&T version. My initial suspicion was that it could be battery, can't even run any tests, it does not stay on. Sometimes it will stay on for several minutes, with screen going on and off and then reboots again.

Maybe a stuck power button? I've never heard of the issue either but with a phone of that age, a hardware fault could be likely

I have another HTC desire, which has the same issue. Both phones have been dropped and the issue started to intensify after that.

I did, but keeps giving me error with "the pipes" which is supposed to be something wrong with the cable, but it's the original cable that came with the phone, tried with another cable as well, same error. Of course it keeps restarting through the whole procedure

Bummer man. Take it you tried another USB port (or pc)? That's all I have to offer I'm afraid and the fact it keeps rebooting makes me keep thinking it's hardware

Wait.

You said you didn't try to root it.

What do you mean in the post above, when you reflashed it?

Did you attempt to install an RUU and it failed?

Yes, I didn't root it - the problem wasn't caused by rooting. I tried to root after the problem started as one possible fix, but it won't let me.

Actually funkylogik might be right, it might be the power button, I have noticed that when I put it in the fastboot mode, you know how it shows you hboot and then you are supposed to press power button and it will take you to fastboot, once there if you click power button it will take you back to hboot main menu. It goes back and forth, without me clicking on anything.
Also when I turn on the phone the screen turns on and off, and then after some time reboots.

Actually I was able to fix it, does not reboot any more. It was the power button, there was a loose connection on the other side of the button, and the issue is resolved. But there is a sim card recognition issue now, but that should be easier to fix.

Thanks for everything guys!
