Help HTC Dead

Hi everyone,
Last night my hTc Sensation screen started to turn black, and then when I picked it up, the phone was really hot and the LED light started to flash orange and green simultaneously so I switched it off until this morning giving it plenty of time to cool down, and now it wont switch on at all, no LED light when charging either, Ive taken the phone back and I have been told to go and collect a replacement on Wednesday which I am totally fine with, but was just curious to why this has happened in the first place??
Ideas anyone?

Was you running an intensive app or anything?

Sounds like it's overheated with it being really hot, I assume something has fried.

No idea why though.
 
have you tried the simple things like taking the battery completely out for a while?

do you know any one with the same phone so you can try their battery?
 
Yes phone is under warranty, picking up a new one on Wednesday, tried a replacement battery, even tried the HOLD POWER AND VOLUME Etc and nothing!! Think the answer to all this is.... Fried! X
 
Sometimes these things happen, that's technology for you, hopefully your replacement phone is slightly cooler, if not make some eggs ;)
