Newbie
So now that i have my First android mobile i have some questions .I'm using a Apple iMac ,and i just got the HTC Desire Hd .It is a great phone and i love it already ,there is only one little problem , i cant use it with my apple computer ! So to all you smart Android users out there , how can i make the HTC Desire HD work with my Imac ? Is there a way to do it or do i have to buy a windows Laptop for it .v:confused:

cheers Peter

I'm using MBP and sorry there is no application for Mac yet. Either you install windows in your iMac or get a windows pc. No other solution.

Are you guys serious ?!!!
HTC Desire HD doesn't work with a mac AT ALL ?!!!!
No ability to synch music or videos? anything ?!

Did you select the disc drive? When you plug in your phone it should ask for connection type. It should on your desktop as '"no name" then you should be able to drag and drop your files.Well this what work for US HTC EVO on my MAC.

I have got a macbook but part of it, think 10% of it is taken up by windows using the bootcamp option. give that a try get windows installed onto your imac, no point in buying a windows computer when you can have windows running alongside the mac.:)

you dont need to install windows you just plug it in select usb connection disk drive and it should show up in the finder as no name

if u cant get it to show turn the phone off and on see if it resets itself ive had no problems with my mac

u just cant use htc sync with it

but drag and drop all your files over its easy enough

Think it's piss poor that HTC don't support the Mac, I do all my synching online and just use the phone as a disk drive to get music on etc

its Apple..trying to force you to buy the wonderful ,beautiful, perfect, never goes wrong, bestest ever we love you S.Jobs iphone 4....NOT,NEVER,....hehe...:p

Yes, DoubleTwist. But i couldn't sync contacts with it. MissingSync can sync music, photos and contacts but its not free. Both works well with itunes.

i don't know what MBP is ..sorry

Thanks for the useful info, guys.

So I understand that the DHD can be used as sort of an external drive when connected to a mac- I just need to drop music and pictures there, and sort it out on the phone itself after.

I guess the only question left is - if I have a mac, the only way to sync contacts with the DHD is through Gmail?

That's a MacBook Pro Arthur, Apple's top end laptop offering. Nice machines if you can afford them.

Apple (United Kingdom) - MacBook Pro - Meet the new MacBook Pro family.

Interested to hear what people come up with here. I'm looking at the Desire HD as a more affordable alternative to the iphone - also the bigger screen appeals.

I'm not a mac user, but shame about the sync thing.
However, access to the SD card is the same as plugging in a usb stick, so copying music, films etc will be a breeze.

As for syncing, get a gmail account & upload all your stuff to it (contact details, calendar etc). Any changes you make on your phone will automatically sync with this account, & visa versa.
Might be a small pain to begin with, but once it's done it works a treat, & you can be reassured that everything's backed up. (new phone, switch it on, all your contacts etc are there)

As for backing up the phone, there are plenty of apps in the market, these backup to the SD card, so no problem there.

DLNA will work with macs.

Plus there are many more benefits over the iPhone, albeit a very good phone.

But, if you're already a mac user, there's no better phone than the iPhone.
For the sake of, what,
