Help HTC Desire and new SDHC card problem

Hi

I've recently got a new 32GB SDHC Sandisk card for my HTC Desire, and some of the movies/tv shows i put on the phone's memory card will not play, but some will

There was no issue with the Samsung 4GB SDHC card that came with the phone, however, the new one seems to have the problems. If i use it as generic file storage card, using an adapter, its fine and works in cameras too, but just not properly in my HTC.

Are you sure it is a "real" Sandisk card?
Is it a Class 2 card? That is slow and can be an issue for videos.
Try to run SD Tools on it to see the card speed.

I've got to say, it doesn't look right to me.
The label on the adapter is on pissed, and both the Sandisk and Micro SD logos look wrong.

Copy the content of SD card to PC, then format it, then run the tool posted by SUroot.
See if that reports any issues.

Also you should verify the write speed.

Thanks, but I'm not the OP, I was just chipping my two penn'orth - my suspicion that it's a ringer. I also have used the H2test.exe that Dan suggested. Would've recommended it myself but he beat me to it.

One note on veryfying the write speed as well. I tested my class 6 card, using the cheap novatech 89-in-one card reader in a 3 1/2" bay and the results were very poor. I only got proper class6 performance when using a USB-to-MicroSD adapter.
Although, I suspect the card won't get far past 1GB anyway so the write speed is pretty academic I suppose.

that looks dodgy to me, might not even be a real 32gb could well be a 4gb masquerading as a 32gb......

Thanks, but I've probably not got much of use to bring to the party at the moment. Especially, as I'm yet to root, and I suspect most of your stuff is rooting / modding related.
