Help HTC Desire Bluetooth cannot find devices

I upgraded from a Motorola V5x that could connect to anything. This HTC Desire will not Connect to thinks like my Garmin satnav, I know that works with my V5x, so got a Parrott Slim for hands free calling. Not that wont work either more money wasted. I set my HTC to find other devices as my 'Parrott Slim' is calling out to be paired. My HTC adds the 'Parrott Slim' to the list but to connect, it speaks failed to connect. Of course the 'Parrott Slim' has no keyboard or display so typing the paing code of '1234' can only happen on the phone. Also has anyone else noticed that voice commands suck on the HTC. On the V5x it just said 'say a Command' and I tell it to call home and it did. All that the HCT seems to offer is a google search by voice, nothing useful :(DougUK.

Hi folks,

Similar issue as previous threads but I have yet to see the same error message anywhere so far.

I've just started using the HTC Desire Android Smartphone and I'm trying to pair it with my Bluetooth C3300K headset.

I've checked that my phone is discoverable, and can actually find the bluetooth device when scanning for it.

I get the following bluetooth request:

To pair with "C3300K" confirm that it is showing the passkey: (various 6 digit numbers appear here)

I then press PAIR and I get the following error message:

"PROBLEM PAIRING MY HTC DESIRE WITH C3300K BECAUSE THE PIN OR PASSKEY IS INCORRECT"

I'm not sure whether the device name on my phone should be showing HTC Desire or SAMSUNG Bluetooth etc but have tried both to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul

Do this to get headset up running:
Turn it off then turn it on again and press on button at least 5 seconds
then your headset will go in "looking for device" mode (flashes blue fast)
and you can now use "scan option" in Bluetooth on your phone.
Most of Nokias headset has this feature because you can bind to up to 8
"units"
I hope you guys get your headsets up running soon :D:)

Mine is a Nokia BH-217

Hi,

I had the same problem with Nokia BH-105. After I hold the power button and OK button(connect and disconnect) the device got reset. Then in the bluetooth setting of HTC IS I scan for new devices under discoverable mode. Both detected and paired, now working fine.

Cheers..!

I was having the problem of connecting my HTC Desire HD to my bluetooth. My phone wasn't detecting my bluetooth. I had made sure my phone was discoverable and I tried resetting my bluetooth many times and it didn't work. My bluetooth wasn't getting into a pairing mode ( get a solid blue light after turning it on while holding the power button.

I then realized my phone was paired with my old iphone 3g. So I deleted my bluetooth from my old phone (forget the device) and turned off the old phone's bluetooth detection. Then I turned off my bluetooth and turned it on again and kept holding it till I got the solid blue light indicating its pairing mode and it worked this time.

I reran my device scan on HTC desire and it detected my bluetooth.
Pairing passwords for bluetooths normally tends to be : 0000 or 1234

Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem - Since the new android software update (2.3.5) a few weeks ago, I am no longer able to detect my Polaroid Pogo. Can anyone confirm whether this is related to the software update?

Has anyone found an answer to this one as yet?

My Desire was connected perfectly well to my car, then I sent the phone back to be repaired (camera, headset and loudspeaker problems) and when it came back the above problems were fixed, but now the phone will not find my car bluetooth! I've tried everything that I can think of to no avail!

HTC Desire is by far the worst phone I've ever had. Looking forward to upgrading soon and putting my HTC to its destined use as a paperweight!!

Finally got my HTC working with my Bluetooth in my Merc C220. It worked fine up until a month ago, reading through forums a handful of people made reference to contacts and the "whatsapp" messaging application.
So I removed the face book app, removed whatsapp and went through my contacts and found a contact with no name and two numbers -so removed that and hey presto phone connected to car kit immediately and stayed connected compared to connecting and disconnecting after about a minute. strange concept to see contacts and other apps interfere with bluetooth. let us know how you get on.

Heiii... Thanx for the simple solution... I had A nokia BH-111 since 3-4 months but wasnt able to connect oit mY HTc wildfire. But now finally ... m able to Connect Enjoy Hands free facility.... Thanx a ton again...:)
I succesfully connected nokia bh-103 with htc desire. The procedure:
1. Switch on the headset and then hold the power button for 4 seconds until you will see green light blinking
2. Enable bluetooth on htc desire and start scanig
3. After succesfully pairing you can start listening music
