Help htc desire c total storage problem

Lurker
Hi guys, i just bought a htc desire c handphone over the weekend. on the specs listed, it says total storage: 4GB / 512 RAM.

I tried looking everywhere but can't find the total storage infomation "4 GB".

Is it under Settings > Storage > Phone Storage?

But under my Phone Storage it says: Total Space 95.25MB, Available 95.21MB  I thought it was 4 GB, it's not even close..

Any kind souls out there to help a 1st time smartphone user please..

I should probably move this to the Desire C section so that you can compare notes with other users.

My guess is that "4GB" is the total internal storage on the device for everything: OS, apps & data, and media. What does it say for all of the different storage partitions (it probably won't tell you the /system size, but an app like Quick System Info will)?

I have found a source that says that the One V, which also has 4GB storage, allocates 1GB for user apps and data and 95MB for media, in which case it's likely that this is the same as you are seeing.

If they've done the same here then it's clear that this is a token effort and they expect you to use an SD card for media. The good news is that it's not the other way round, because 95MB for apps and data would really hurt you!

Yes, the internal storage is 4gb but in reality only 0.94gb (almost 1gb) is available. But 1gb is generally enough given that apps are normally no more than a few megabytes. I also have an 8gb storage card from Tesco for
