Help HTC Desire camera and LED issues

Android version: 2.2 (a guy told me to update my software, but it says there are none available.)

Issue:
My LED doesn't work, and my camera is just a black screen. I'm very angry right now. This happened to me less than a month ago, and my speaker broke as well, and I got it fixed and now its broken again. Would love to know if there is an issue with these parts or something I'm doing. This will be the third time I've had to get my desire fixed. Not to mention the shocking lag when I'm typing on the internet i.e. now.

Not a fan of iPhone's but considering it after this time.

Have to say I find the build quality of the Desire to be really good. I even left mine on the car roof and drove off once, before at 50mph it went crashing onto the road behind me. Retrieved it and it's totally unscathed.

Biggest problem with the Desire INHO is the low internal memory, but you can get around that by rooting the phone and flashing a custom rom. Would not advise this though it you are having hardware issues as you may need to return it and it will void your guarantee. Out of interest where did you buy it and how long ago?
