I just got mine from Play today, the case is fantastic, much much better than my flexi-skin type one, it's a tiny bit bulkier (and I mean tiny) than a silicone type but well worth it, especially if you have a job where you may drop/damage it a bit more than a office worker.

If I get a chance will try and get some pics on here.

Wouldnt mind a few pics of the case. I am tempted. See if its worth the money.

I bought it directly from Case-Mate but you can get them from Play.com now, and I guess other UK suppliers will sell them as well now. Case-mate do make cases for other models, you can see which ones here.

After looking around I found ebay to be the cheapest, I used this seller and got 2 of the cases next day (one for my missuses Legend).
The case you need to order that fits the Desire is the Aquapac Mini Waterproof Phone/GPS Case 104 Swim/Kayak.
 
So what is the general consensus regarding cases and protective screens? I have an Nokia E71 at the mo and it is now knackered due to all the dust and crap from my job getting into the charging port. So i need to get something to protect the phone for when it comes on Wednesday. I had a case for the E71 that came with it and did use it for a time but lost it and never replaced it, wish i did now as it rendered the phone unusable with dust and dirt ruining it. Although the positive was getting a Desire now!!
 
Anyone have any opinion on the Case-Mate Tough case vs the Case-Mate Torque case? Specifically is one noticeably bulkier than the other and is either one harder to pull out of your jeans pocket.

They seem to be the highest quality cases out there for the Desire.

question regarding the case mate tough case.

maybe only time will answer, but what is the build quality like in terms of it being 2 pieces? I have hybrid type case bought off ebay, and surprise surprise the clips have broke.....and I haven't even dropped it!!!!!

I'm debating whether to get the torque case or the tough case

Can anyone recommend a good screen protector? (preferably UK based or ebay).

The one I've got on my Desire is just covered in scratches after only a week even though nothing has come in to contact with it. It's just so soft. Yet the one on my iPod Touch doesn't have a mark on it after about a year.
 
Been using my casemate torque for about one week and I am happy about how it "performs"..(?) Fits nice around the phone and don't think it adds bulk, thought it would have a lot more traction going down in my pocket but that's no problem. Haven't tested putting it down in the car, casemate also had a screenprotector that came with the case. Volume, on/off and charger are easy to touch/get to.

plz post few pics of the case if possible. thanks. does its edges elevate the touchscreen from the surface when put upside down??
torque or tough cases?? which one is more bulkier
 
Would be interested in "real" pictures of the Casemate Torque as well...
Can't make up my mind to order that or the barely-there version...

try to search for schmarky22 on eBay - me and my mates have had around 6 orders from them and they've been great.

+1 for these cases - Bought one myself direct Proporta and it is very well made and a great fit. They even sent me a complimentry tea bag with the order! :D
 
okay, i could not take it anymore... been browsing this thread for 3 days up and down many times...
I've ordered the one that probably suits me and my phone the best, the Case-Mate Torque Case from Amazon (seemed the cheapest for me)

I'll post some photos when I get it - expected delivery mid-august
