Help HTC Desire doesn't detect signal?

So I bought an HTC Desire yesterday, and today I find out that my internet doesn't work on it, neither does the wifi. I have them checked ON in the settings, but still doesn't work? I tried all around town yesterday and it doesn't work. I'm with Telus, and I didn't install any applications.

If its still not working after a battery pull, I'd show it to someone un the shop you bought it in.
