Help HTC Desire doesn't recognise memory card.

Hi everyone.
I've removed the memorycard that came with my HTC Desire to insert a new bigger storage one but when I turn my phone back on and go into the memory card option in settings it doesn't recognise it's there.
Does the card have to be formatted to any specific file system before hand eg fat16 fat32 etc.

Normally SD cards come formatted. You can try to do that anyway with FAT32.

Have you got a USB/microsd card reader/adaptor? Can you access it from the PC? May just need formatting first.

I am ex Sheffield + new to smart phones. I have just bought a larger card. What do I do to install it ? I assume you got sorted ?

If you got both the phone and card new, then just put the card in the phone and you should be done.
If only the card is new, then you need to copy the content of the old card to new card with the help of a PC.
