Root HTC Desire: Email App Stopped Working

Hi there,

For no apparent reason my HTC desire has stopped receiving emails.

Its been like that for a couple of days now.

I have 25MB of internal phone memory left, which should be sufficient.

I have deleted my account amd tried reinstalling it, but that is not working either:

I followed the instructions here to set up the new accoutn using exchange:

and also tried to do it using the pop server method:

I get the following error: Warning, Cannot connect to the remote server. Please check network settings and try again.

Can someone please advise I really need email on my phone.

can you access hotmail through a web browser? If you can't, it's a problem with hotmail. They may have changed something as it's now outlook.com. I would try clearing data on email app and input your server details again.

Hi, mine did this too, probably from Wed/Thurs this week. Got the same error so thought I'd delete the accounts and re-enter them but then my SD card got corrupted. So now going to bite the bullet and root the phone as I've lost the data on the card anyway.

It's likely to be pure coincidence but if you can backup your card first.

Same problem, email's stopped on the 13th using standard email app on HTC Desire. Can still send emails but cannot recieve. I think it must be an issue caused by Hotmail but I'd love a quick fix if anyone has any suggestions? Really frustrating.
