Help HTC Desire Facebook Contacts

Hi

I have my Facebook Account Sync'd with my HTC Desire, but I have a problem. Before, I could just press the sync button on my phone and everything would sync and refresh (Even the contacts on my phone... and when I mean this, I mean the picture on their contact changes, when they update their picture on facebook) but now, when I do that, the picture will not update. Why is this? Is there a way that I can change it so that when I do refresh the Facebook Contacts that are synced with the contacts on my phone, their picture will change?

The only way I've been able to get Facebook pictures to refresh / update regularly is to have the account set to auto-sync. When set like that then the photos will update very often.

Unfortunately if it's not on auto-sync there doesn't seem a way of doing it. Even doing the occasional manual sync won't sort it, pictures just won't change.

I'm set to auto sync at the moment but I believe it's the cause of my ever decreasing internal memory size. I don't think HTC sense handles the link to the Contact records very well and wastes a lot of space. Certainly in the past i've gained a couple of mbs when deleting all contacts and then just reimporting the vcf file and syncing that up.

I have my phone set to Wi-Fi only, so when it does auto sync, will it use Data? And how can I set it to auto sync?
