HTC Desire Google maps/navigation

Quick question...how do you mark a location which you've been to so u can search back on Google Maps again? there doesnt seem to be an option to mark a fav spot and show direction to that place. Please help! I cud be mistakenly blur bout the settings, but otherwise, the whole point of a nav system on the Desire seems redundant if it cant mark a point...
 
I think this is starred items, when you are on a map and you hold down on a street and you get the page to share, navigate etc, there is a black star top right, click on it (mine turned orange) and it saves as a favourite, syncs with your google account too.

I am guessing at this moment but will check later when I get back to my phone.
 
Then when you want to nav to the starred item, on the map click menu, then more, then starred items.
All mine are listed tap the one you want and bingo you can nav to it.

I tried CoPilot Live 8 with North America. The zipcodes and data were all wrong for my area. It showed me in the next town. My zipcode 02919 also showed that same wrong town. Used it once and the exit numbers were wrong. It said take exit five for Atwood Ave. Atwood is exit 6. I submitted the data fix requests, and tech support said it may be fixed next quarter map release. Since a map release came out the end of May, I am not willing to wait that long. Android Market says contact ALK for refund (past 24 hours). ALK says since I did not buy from them, I must get the refund from the market. Guess I wasted my money. Anyone have a recommendation for a working on-board gps nav system that will work with HTC Incredible.
 
I noticed some of you talking about the voice feature on Google maps. i tried the maps feature this morning with turn by turn direction but there was no voice over. Do I need\to activate or install something for it to work?

Did a hundred mile trip, works a treat. I used about 10mb.

I have a TomTom but for most trips this will do instead.
