Help HTC Desire HD - Rogers - MMS issues

winnipegk

Newbie
I have an unlocked HTC Desire HD on the Rogers network. I can't send MMS messages. I have used the APN settings found here:

http://androidforums.com/hero-support-troubleshooting/45005-mobile-network-apn-settings.html

I've done some Googling and tried a few things that people have suggested but with no luck. I'm wondering if I've done something wrong.

I went to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access point Names. In there, I added a new APN with these settings:

Name:RogersMMS
APN: media.com
Username: media
Password: mda01
Server: 172.25.0.107
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302 (should already be filled in)
MNC: either 720 or 72 depending on your SIM card (should already be filled in)
APN Type: mms

So now I have 2 APNs listed, one for Internet / Texting and one for MMS...my internet and texting works fine but I can't send or receive picture messages. I'm getting a General Network Failure.

Is there anything else you might suggest?

bumping to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Rogers won't help me

I have been searching online but can't find a solution that will help.

Does it do the same with Handcent or GoSMS?

I don't know what those are, but I'll definitely check that out...

Are they definitely the current Rogers APN Settings? That post was from way back in 2010.

I'm not sure - every time I call Rogers and ask for them they only give me half of the info and tell me they won't help me because I don't have a Rogers phone. Any suggestions for how I can get the current info?

Handcent and GoSMS are alternative SMS apps, they've been known to fix a few of the issues with the standard HTC SMS app. It might not work, but there's no harm in giving either a whirl.

Is there no info regarding APN's on the Rogers site?

bumping in hopes that someone will have some idea...

I called Rogers support and they won't help me.
HTC support said I may not be able to do it since it's unlocked....is that normal? That a feature like MMS would be lost in unlocking the phone?
