HTC Desire HD vs Apple iPhone 4?

Those buds look quite sexy but my ears don't seem to like them, they ache and/or fall out. My dad is exactly the same..genetics, eh.

So I'm stuck wearing over the head 'phones. :D

Editing so I'm not swamping this thread: If you want to use your own headphones with a remote, apparently this one is good: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-5mm-...ophone-for-iphone-2g-3g-3gs-80cm-length-35002 Looks as though the wire might not pull away like cheaper adapters. You wouldn't believe the trouble I'm having finding a decent one! I know dealextreme are hardly top-notch but I'm desperate to get my hands on one.

I recently got a DHD, and personally i'm biased towards the DHD because i've never liked Apples limitations... But apart from my opinion, all of my iPhone 4 using friends much prefer my DHD to their own iPhones :P mainly because of the screen size and the camera... And lots of people think it looks nicer too :)

And i recommend some WESC headphones, cheap but look brilliant and sound very good (believe the audio components are actually JL audio...)

Hope this helps :)

IPhone dosnt have an SD card slot, cannot play flash, cannot be customised, cannot replace battery.. but can play angry birds and make calls.

I can't believe I missed the most import issue with surfing the web on an iPhone compared to Android. The bleeding lack of flash on iPhone. Thanks for reminding me. Such an Important thing missing on the iPhone operating system. The amount of websites that give my wife's Iphone trouble because of the lack of flash..............need i say more. Been mentioned to death already.

I went through all of this in moving from Nokia, I am not a Geek did not want to root etc. Liked the openness of Android and the whole Google experience and was impressed with the Desire HD. At least two of my friends are moving to Android when their Iphone contracts expire. Before getting my phone I set up a gmail account and switched to Google calender. Opened the box entered my Google password and away I went. At the end of the day its a personal choice

I had 5 work colleagues that were all iphone owners, as was I. I was the first to break the habit, and get a DHD. Now they've seen what my phone can do, they are all changing to Androids at their renewal date.

I came onto desire HD from iPhone 4 and haven't looked back! The freedom of Android is amazing compared to iOS. The appstore doesnt have as much to offer as apple's, but I honestly can't fault it! This is my opinion anyway :)

I'm sure the IPhone is a great phone, but the reason I went Android (long time BB user) is because I believe Android is the future. So might as well get on board now.

And I'm a "computer guy", so I like playing around with my gadgets. And I find Android is open enough to allow me to do so.

Comparing phones on price (i'm in Australia)

Desire HD $50 per month on $45 infinite plan (vodafone) 24 month contract

iPhone4 $65 per month on $45 infinite plan (vodafone) 24 month contract

exactly same plan, HD is $15 per month cheaper

Desire HD wins again

I have an ipod touch which i know is not an iphone but very similar and since I got my Desire HD I haven't touched my Ipod touch. It just seems so boring.

For me, customization is the thing! With Android I can customize it without even rooting far more than I could with an un jailbroken iphone.

Probably not the most important thing as many users will have cases for their phones (but I like them nekked). Drop your iphone 4 once, you're looking at buying 2 new panes of glass for the front and back. Drop your DHD you might be looking at buying a new screen, but not after 1 drop...

At least that's what I've heard from a lot of iphone users...

Dropped my DHD a couple of times and on neither occasion as there been any issue with scratches etc. The battery cover held as did the sim/microsd cover. Only a slight nick to the casing and I mean minor and only noticable by me unless who stare at it long enough.

I too dropped mine and that from a pocket at the side door of my SUV and it fell front facing, at that point I was like there it goes but to my amazement, it was all intact not a single scratch I noticed anywhere and all functional.
