HTC Desire messaging problems :S

I am having trouble with my HTC Desire messaging service, my phone will tell me that someone has text me, then once clicked to open the message, I discover that the message is from a different person, it is really awkward as when I am replying it sends to the wrong person.

I have been experiencing these problems since rebooting my phone.

Also, I have entered the codes so that I am able to receive picture messages, however still not able to receive them.

Anybody help me!?

i had similar issues with the stock sms app sending txts to the wrong people. i tried handcent but found it fiddly and laggy so went with chomp, which has been fine for the few months i've been using it.
