Root Htc desire miui uninstall help

I will start firstly by apologising if:

1) I should not be posting this here
2) For being a Techo Noob who may have bitten off more then he can chew
3) Apologise if this information is already somewhere else.

And beg forgiveness that if any of the above are applicable then this is my first offence.

Now I'm going to be brave and tell the truth. Today I successfully rooted my HTC Desire and Installed my first custom ROM which was MIUI. The latest stable version (which should have had the language pk included)

You are right I was impressed I had made it this far through the mountain of info and successfully completed my objective followng the guide to the letter.

BUT!!! Having installed it I have noticed that some of the text is still in Chinese, I cannot locate any of my contacts, messages or apps and basically want to revert my phone back to the standard SENSE it had. I backed up using titaniam and have since followed the Nandroid process of backing up an image.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! HELP me restore my phone with my contacts messages and apps. GUIDES, HOW TOS's ANYTHING

I also tried the RUU advice but keep getting errors with the ones i download.

I unfortunately did not take a note of my software number.

Although I should be pleased with the MIUI ROM I'm not and want to go back to how it was.

Apologise for the GUSHY tone in my post I'm hoping it will pull on the heart strings of those in the know to help someone who just fancied fancy icons and is now up S**T creek with no HTC Sense paddle.

I assure you I did read the FAQ and was aware of the risks! We're allowed to make mistakes aren't we ;o(

Any info you need I will try to supply.

SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks in advance

Why don't you just go to the root forum here and follow the.link to xda Roms. Miui xj.is full English.

You.took a nandroid backup right? Did you read my.faqs?

If not, do.it.now before you do ANYTHING else

As su said. Don't worry, its not worth running the ruu until you have tried all that is to offer from being rooted.
Did you do a nandroid before you flashed the miui rom?
Do you use save contacts as Google contacts? If you do all your numbers will be backed up to your Google account.
The easiest method is to search XDA for miui xj, as such said, and install that as I can guarantee its all in English.

Hi SUroot/ducky1979,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my rant the other day. Since then I installed MIUI 1.8.26 and everything for the moment is just gravy!! Loving the ROM, everything in English so life is great at the moment.

I've already been looking into other ROMs but I'm more afraid of flashinbg another one then I was doing my first one...there seems to be so many caveats........partition SD, CM7's, S-OFFs, custom HBOOTS, Radios....the list seems endless.

I thought once my phone was rooted you just download as many roms as you can, install and away you go. But as they say nothing in life is easy or free.

So I at least have a nice working ROM and a bit of light reading to do before going again.

Cheers again guys

Read all the guides that are in suroots sig, its all worth knowing and well written and will benifit you later when you decide to delve furthur into the endless possibilities being rooted has to offer, and if your unsure don't be worried about asking questions. You will soon be confident with flashing roms, I wouldn't worry about being s-off yet or about flashing radios, the only thing I would suggest next is creating a partition on your SD card, again there are guides for that and a link in my sig. Just enjoy it now pal. :-)
