Help HTC Desire Notification Light colour

Ruswit

Newbie
I have read many articles on here and elsewhere about how the notification light on the Htc Desire can only be green. However i stumbled across this accidentally.
It can it seems be other colours! To witness this try downloading "handcent sms" and then changing the notification settings, and the light colour to blue or one of the others. Then send your self a text or wait for one and see that it actually has other possible colours!?

Was this possibly a blocked feature by HTC? I have no found any other apps that this "secret" works with but i dont doubt that there are others.

So far these colours work "Blue" "Pink" "Amber" "Green (default colour)" "light blue" (all of them listed in the app basically)

Enjoy!

I use the above app and it's pretty solid. Unfortunately the developer has been MIA for a while now and it doesn't work on 2.3 I don't think.

Yeah i tried the LED me know app and it worked, im just wondering is it possible to unlock the full range of colours by rooting? Obviously it works somewhat with select apps but its a limited function...

Only if a custom rom supports it. Im not sure that many do. Most of us have to use led me know.

I think, after reading the thread over at XDA the other day, that the dev (who is back) is looking into the complete range of LED possibilities although he's not sure.

In the past it had been assumed this was impossible.

Regardless, a huge update is in progress.

I agree with matttye, i do prefer the native green :P But its still a nice feature. The other colours when set to blink seem a bit incomplete, for instance when flashing blue you can sometimes see it flash green for a split second before changing to blue. Also has anyone noticed significant battery loss from using Led Me know?
