HTC Desire or HTC Wildfire?

Thank you. :o Been hoping for the voice of reason for a while now! I normally try not to get into these things, but sometimes it's easy to get immersed.

Everyone needs to let off a bit of steam sometimes, its good for you.
I have seen some forums where there is a rant thread for these very purposes.

The hero runs a different version of sense to the Wildfire and Desire.

Sense with Android 2.1, champ. Pinch to leap, the works. Same shit.

Outdated compared to what? Most people are still using normal 'dumb' phones. For anyone upgrading from one of those, the Wildfire will be an enormous step up. Try looking at things from a perspective that isn't so limited. I'm sorry but your attitude to anything but the most recent technology is laughable.

The OP's upgrading from a Samsung Omnia 2 which, while not amazing, is definitely not a dumbphone. And yes, the piece-of-shit 528 MHz chip in the Wildfire is outdated. Antiquated. Horrible. Slow. Deal with it. Or maybe you'd like to start recommending the Nokia N97 to people too?

I don't know what you're hoping to achieve by swearing, nor by your absurd attitude. I'm simply going to stop replying to your posts, everything that can be said in response already has been. Have a good evening. ;)

Not everyone needs a higher end phone.

If they did, mid range phones like the Wildfire wouldn't exist...

I've skipped most of this thread because of the bickering but I thought I would have my say seeing as I've got both phones . The wildfire IS a budget phone, although its a nice size and feature packed it is noticeably slower than the desire and the screen is downright awful. You pay for what you get. If you can only afford a wildfire then get one but if the desire is in your price range then get one as I guarantee you would regret it otherwise

I would recommend the Desire. The Wildfire is a solid device I'm sure but a 240x320 screen is about 7 years out of date.
I had a look at moneysupermarket.com. It turns out that you can get a Desire for

Going to throw into the mix that the Legend was originally pegged as a low end Desire. And that seems closer than the Wildfire. I would agree the Wildfire has a terrible screen and will be around 50% slower than the Desire. I guess the smaller screen may make it feel a little nippier. But look at the specs.
