Root HTC Desire rooted-free up storage space?

I know this is a big issue with the desire and I've looked all over the internet for fixes. I've rooted my phone and moved some apps to the sd that I couldnt do before root. I use cachecleaner but I still keeping get less than 15MB storage. I've read about moving the dalvik cache but not sure how you do it or if it can be actually done on the stock HTC sense Android 2.3.3 Rom...? I love this phone but this us a major down fall Any help would be great.

Cheers

@JDY - you need a custom ROM that supports a2sd+, just rooting the stock ROM doesn't get you access to this feature. You'll need to partition your SD card first - Gparted recommended - see SU's guide on setting up VMware to do this if on a Win PC.

Then if you want a ROM close to stock but with a2sd+ good place to start is flash Teppic's GB ROM

OK cheers for the info. Think i'm gonna use supernova as i like the stock ROM.

Thanks

Froyo Apps2SD only moves part of the app to the SD and it's not the most efficient way of freeing up space. Gingerbread uses more or less the same method but slightly more refined so there isn't too much difference.
If you want something similar to Stock and free space for apps, I'd flash Teppic74's Sense Gingerbread ROM as it has apps2SD+ script (which you will have to flash separately) which can be found here. This should give you ample room for a good amount of user apps.
dalvik cache can be moved to SD card but not in every case. My experience with this is using the Redux rom and I have over 70mb free with approx 70 user apps (in conjunction with apps2SD+).

Good luck
