Help HTC Desire S Language

Hello,

I bought a HTC Desire S from a website called simplyelectronics and it turns out its a Taiwanese import and so the only English language option is 'English (Taiwan)' which would be fine but some apps etc. are coming up in (what I presume is) Taiwanese.

So I need to know if I can somehow install 'just' English or English UK or the right one for my region 'UK'. I will even reinstall the firmware if needs be.

Its Android 2.3.3.

Your problem has cropped up before - see here. I don't know how jay_1985 got on, but he was going to send his back.

When you say that you're prepared to reinstall the firmware, the only way to do that is to root your phone. Make sure you understand what this process involves before embarking on it. You can find some useful info on rooting here, as well as links to other resources.
