Help HTC Desire S question

Hello all.

I have a HTC Desire S running HTC Sense 2.1 and Android version 2.3.3. I was wondering if it is possible to disable HTC Sense and whether it is worth doing on this phone? I have looked around on the net to see how to disable it, but I can't seem to find a walkthrough for the Desire S.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

The only way to do that is by 'rooting' your phone. At the moment, it's only possible with an XTC clip. Soon, though, it should be possible to do it with software.

You really need to know what you're doing before choosing this option and the risks/hassles associated with it and the resources available for the Desire S to help you.

There's a sub-forum here for this very thing, although, because the required software for rooting the Desire S is not out yet (by far the most popular way of rooting a phone), it's pretty quiet.
