Help HTC Desire S Wifi problem, please help!

Hi, over the past couple of days both my mobile internet and wifi have been playing up on my Desire s. When out and about on 3g my phone wouldn't connect to the internet even though I had really good signal. That seems to have sorted itself out but I just thought I'd mention it in case it is related to my next problem. The phone will connect to a router (I've tried it at 3 different houses now), but even when I have perfect signal and am standing in the same room as the router the internet will not work and apps just say that I don't have an internet connection. I've restarted the phone and changed my ip settings and there are moments when it's worked for a short amount of time but then its stopped working again. I really have no idea what to try now. I have insurance so if it's completely knackered its not a major problem it's just bugging me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the forum but couldn't see anyone with the same problem. I'm on Android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0.

p.s. I checked 'use static IP' and entered these figures that I found on another forum but still nothing:
IP address: 192.168.2.50
Gateway: 192.168.2.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
DNS 1: 4.2.2.2
DNS 2: 4.2.2.1

Problem solved, I just changed the wifi settings back to how they were before the problem started and its working again now. Very strange!

Mine is a slightly different problem

At one time i could not connect to the internet using mobile and then i called HTC and the phone somehow re-set itself before HTC called me back with a solution.

Now, Push mail works fine with mobile connection but when i connect to the work wi-fi, push mail stops working. Its really annoying me, plz what should i do?
