Help HTC Desire Screen Lock trouble

Hi! I'm new here so I'm sorry if I've posted in wrong place.
Anyway, I have Desire and my little brother "pranked" me with replacing my screen lock. As he said, he just draw a random pattern and forgot it.
THIS SUCKS.
However, after I failed with entering the pattern a "Forgot pattern?" box appeared in the right courner. I tapped on it, entered my e-mail and password but got it wrong. I've entered e-mail with I've used on my phone, password too.
My Wi-Fi connection is off. Please help! Is there a way to reboot it or something? It's going to cost me bunch of cash to unlock it in the store :/
And I'm still a kid.

SOLVED! : Yes, I had to take a factory reset on it.
This is how you do it.
1. Turn off your HTC Desire
2. Hold volume button down.
3. Press Power button
4. Choose CLEAR STORAGE and press power button

The only thing I can think of is a factory reset. This will wipe the phone to an out of the box state though. Contacts, sms, call logs, apps etc
