Help HTC Desire Screen

Hello. I recently got an HTC Desire. I noticed a hairline scratch on the screen and I buffed it out with toothpaste and flannel. Something I've noticed is that fingerprints and oil get caught a lot easier in the area I buffed the scratch out in? Did I like wash some fingerprint coating or something? I washed the screen already but problem still persists.

Ideas?

Thanks

Toothpaste and a Flannel ??????

Have i really just read this post correct ???

Was that you own thought to do it or did someone advise you that that was the best way ?

Why didnt you take it back???

Ps- does it smell nice though now ?

Have you never heard of using toothpaste to remove light scratches Harriss?

Thing is, sure I read somewhere this wasnt a good idea on capacitive touch screens.

You have replaced a single scratch for thousands of micro scratches ,which although they give the appearance of a scratch free screen ,will now be a matt finish and will attract dirt etc.

Its good on CD's and DVD's and perhaps even the plastic lens cover over the camera. Brasso is supposed to be good too. But no, I'd never use it on a digitizer.

Yea I figured that out. Thanks for the input. It's an extremely small area so it's no big deal. I'm looking into getting a good screen protector for it. Any recommendations?

Get what you pay for really with protectors. Get some off ebay and you will notice that you get 3+ in a pack.....this is because they are awful.

I think there is one called colgate that is good for screens ;-)

I think I already have a strong dislike for this forum.
