Help HTC Desire - Speech to text

Sorry if this has been covered before but my speech to text is stopped working. When I press the little microphone icon at the bottom of the keyboard I get the following message "There is a problem with the network connection".

This used to work and I cannot see what the state of the network has got to do with composing an SMS.

It's because an internet connection is needed to process the speech to text. You phone does not do the processing, the sound clip is uploaded to a server and it's processed there.
