First of all I hope I post this in the right section. Over the last couple of weeks my Desire has been having weird issues with the screen. The only way I can describe it (for lack of a better word) is that it has developed a sporadic twitch. I don't have a camera other than my phone so I have done a quick youtube search to see what I could find:

This "twitch" can sometimes be fixed by a reboot (hot or cold), sometimes by a good screen wiping and sometimes by a mixture of the two. The odd thing is the phone can be fine for hours on end then out of the blue this would happen.
I have ruled out it being a software issue as I have tried with stock 2.2, the "official" 2.3 upgrade and custom roms, the issue persists. I have done some research and come up with some conclusion, however the issue is hard to describe in words, so you can image it's hard to hunt down solutions on google. From what I have read the main suggestions are:
- Replace the battery.
- Replace the screen.
- Water has got into my phone / dry it out (doubt it is this).
- Cold weather can affect the "sensor" on the screen. (currently cold enough for snow here).
I've had the phone for 3 years so I am assuming it may be a part that is on it's way out.
My questions to you guys are:
- What do you reckon it could be (need more details, just ask)?
- Where could I get a quality replacement screen (UK).
- If not in the UK could you advise of a brand / model to look out for?
- Would a replacement battery do anything at all? (Phone retains normal charge and charges fine).
