HTC Desire WIND Network (AWS) Band

I bought my Desire a few months ago in Europe so the frequencies my phone supports is only 900/2100. I currently have Rogers and is sick and tired of the ridiculous plans the "Big 3" has. I'm hoping that switching to a different carrier would be best. My phone is unfortunately non-compatible with Roger's network and only has Edge which pisses me off the most because I can never have fast browsing. (Especially when I can never go on youtube since it says error because of the slow network close to 0.08 mbps)

Wind currently has support for 1700/2100 bands I believe and my phone supports 2100. Does this mean my phone is compatible with Wind's 3g network? The only thing bothering me is the speed and if i can get my hands on 3g network on any carrier, i would go straight for it. I dont want to purchase a new phone because i find my desire AWESOME!!

Also, how is Wind for the wind users? Do you get alot of dropped calls or texts? Internet speeds fast?

Thanks for all the help!

If you've been with Rogers for more than 6 months, you can call retentions and mention Wind Mobile to get better plans/rates - the longer you've been with them, the better options you have. I'm on an unlimited North America plan with unlimited talk and text for the same as I was paying for MY5/text. Now I can call anywhere in Can/US instead of just the 5 numbers. I'm a happy camper.

No it won't work as Wind only uses 1700MHz (AWS band) for its network.

Why don't you sell the EU version and buy one for NA?
