HTC devices official FroYo update second half 2010!

Called up Danish HTC support yesterday. They said that both Legend and Desire certainly would be upgraded to froyo. But they couldn't say when....:rolleyes:
 
I read somewhere about the battery drain with 2.2 - sorry, I've lost the link. Having said that, everyone on forums so far has either said they've seen no difference, or that they think there's less battery drain with it: good news!
 
hi guys, newbie here. just got my first android phone, which happens to be HTC desire. initially i was clueless about android versions, but somehow i stumbled upon the "rumor" that HTC will release an upgrade (Froyo) for desire's OS. and now i am anxious to have the OS on my phone upgraded, to avail of the significant improvements promised by Froyo.

i do hope they (HTC) will do release the upgrade. from what i've read so far it seems uncertain, and that HTC desire owners can most likely wait in vain. i hope some bigshot from HTC reads this forum and all other android/HTC desire fora. hear the voices of your customers! (and please don't force us to buy another phone just to avail of the improvement. HTC desire is not so cheap... Google Nexus One has it).
 
This is great news. The thing I'm wondering about is the update after 2.2(which is rumored to be 3.0) Is HTC good about continually updating their phones with the latest OS? When do they stop update support for their devices,..one, two, three updates? Anyone have any experience with this?
