What is everybody thinking about the soon to be released beastly DNA ???? I am a big fan of HTC build quality and run on the mighty Rezound - the most underrated phone released last year ..... love my Rezound - no issues but its oh so sad battery life which I deal with by extra batteries or use of a New Trent 11000 mah charger.......

So on to the DNA !! Can't freaking believe the 440 ppi pixel count - the best screen on ANY MOBILE DEVICE IN THE WORLD - quad core processor and 2 G of RAM .....oh my.......

Here is my question please for all you technical types.......with a non-replaceable 2500 mah battery - a nice step up from the tiny weenie itsy bitsy 1610 mah Rezound battery.......will a quad core processor make the 2500 mah battery be enough to power this BEAST OF A PHONE??????

I dont expect it to have all day life with heavy use, but im sure it will be fine for what i use a phone for. I get roughly 2-3 days with pretty heavy use on my rezound w/ extended battery. if i can get 1 full day with this phone ill be more than happy. Im gonna be stealing an upgrade from my parents to get it.

Putting a DNA and a Note 2 in a caged deathmatch... the winner shall be my next phone.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE !

The DNA is the first HTC phone on Verizon that is clearly better than the Rezound. Not sure I like the lack of expandable storage, though.

ive used like 1 or 2 gig of my rezounds space honestly. space isnt an issue for me and phones, i dont put much on them. battery life will be the more interesting one for me.

I would have it, if it were not for the size.
4.3-4.7 is my sweet spot. 5 I think is just too big.

For a screen/resolution that size, I think it needs a bigger battery (BTW, to the OP, I think it's just 2,020, not 2,500). The Note 2 is 3100 mah, more than 1K more than the DNA. HTC always skimps on the battery. Loved the Rezound but when the Note 2 comes to Verizon at the end of the month, that's what I'll be getting.

i really wish they were doing the rumored 2500 but oh well. Choices are really limited and i dont expect another HTC beast phone on verizon that soon after the dna so its the dna or nothing really. I cant do a samsung phone, touchwiz kills any and all samsung phones for me.

i talked to verizon today about stealing an upgrade from parents phones, so just need a solid date they will get it and im good to go.

been on that most the morning. its the biggest reason im sold on it, the battery life was my main concern, but i dont go hardcore on my phone use, its more of a facebook, occasional music and web browsing. i dont play games or anything on phones since i have a nexus 7 for that. im pretty sure i can easily make it a day with this phone since im on wifi at both home and work.

Can easily last an entire day then.

I'm at 13 hours now with around 30 percent battery left.

Is it a nice upgrade compared to the Rezound? I'm probably gonna bite the bullet and just go see about pre ordering it tomorrow. I just cant seem to find anything wrong with this phone for what I use one for.

It smashes the stock rezound battery, but can't match up with the extended 2750 the rezound has.

All-in-all the battery is not a hindrance for me

I honestly only used the stocker in my rezound for a day or two, I had an extended pretty much waiting for it. Im heading up there tomorrow to do some shuffling around of plans and probably having my mom pick up something new with the last upgrade and then my dad gets my incredible that ive had laying around.

Rezound will become my mp3 player most likely and backup phone if ever needed.

Did you just come from the Rezound to the DNA? I have been a cheerleader for the DNA but am getting cold feet the more I read bad reviews about the battery ....

The 16GB limit worries me a bit, especially knowing the usable space will be more like 11GB, but I'm taking the plunge anyway and ordered a DNA.

Sadly, I'll have to sell my Rezound to defray the cost, since I paid full price to keep my unlimited data. The Rezound wasn't perfect, but it was enough of an improvement over the Thunderbolt to restore my faith in HTC.

I made the jump from Rezound to DNA, couldnt say no to this phone, its amazing. I will miss my Rezound, as like the Incredible before it, was nothing short of great in every aspect really. Ill be keeping it around for an mp3 player atleast for now unless I find a friend who needs a new phone.

I wasn't convinced that the DNA would be a significant step up from the Rezound — and it's not as big as the improvement from Thunderbolt to Rezound was — but it's enough of a leap that I'm happy with the decision. I don't know if the added resolution adds that much to the experience, but the added screen size is very noticeable and welcome, and the slimmer profile is more impressive than I thought it would be. I never minded the Rezound's chunkiness until I held a DNA.

Oh, and the battery life on this thing is waayyy better than the Rezound. The benchmarks might not have impressed reviewers, but I'm still seeing 70% full battery in instances where the Rezound would've been drained.

You won't be disappointed, I promise :)

good to hear, i have an upgrade on 12/14 and am considering the dna...do you have any pictures of the dna with the rezound?

Of both phones? Or pics of the DNA, taken by the rezound?
