I've had my Evo for a few years now, and it's been through quite a bit... (dropped it in the toilet about a year or so back >.>) Anyway, it survived that incident with a few minor problems, mostly with the backlight, and it's been fine until recently.
If it's off and I try to turn it on, it shows static. Then I have to click the power button a couple more times before it shows the htc screen and turns on. It's done that for a while, but hasn't really given me any problems. But just today, it suddenly turned off, and when I tried to turn it back on using the usual method, it got stuck in a boot loop. It turned all the way on, then shut off again and tried to reboot. It would get stuck on the static screen, then shut off, then turn on again, then shut off, static screen, etc etc. Now it doesn't even turn all the way on; it only gets as far as the htc screen before shutting down again. Finally, it seems to have gotten stuck and won't turn on at all (it probably wasted all its battery life rebooting itself, and I can't really get it to charge. It's completely off and plugged in but doesn't seem to be charging.)
I've tried popping the battery out and letting it sit, which has fixed its weird reboot problems in the past, but it seems to be completely fried now. I'm really not sure what to do with it other than take it in to the Sprint store and hope they can figure out what's going on, but I think it might just be gone...
