Hey guys,

I bought HTC EVO 3D with Sprint not too long ago and I'm cancelling my contract soon (yes, I have to pay the termination fee but it beats paying $100 for the next 2 years)

Anyway, I'm new with all this stuff, after Sprint has terminated my phone, what will happen to my phone? I wanna switch to a non contract provider and still use my HTC EVO 3D but seems like all providers (Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile) don't allow that.

Do any of you know what service provider that will allow me to just purchase their plan without having to buy their phone?

Cricket. I was with them for years and they take flashed phones. I even heard they don't care about bad esn numbers, but don't know how true. Get someone to flash your phone to Cricket.

Flash memory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Android phones use flash memory. When someone uses the word "flash" as a verb, they mean "write." Basically you're re-writing the phone's memory to use a different carrier. I know people were doing this for the Evo 4G. Not sure if this is available for Evo 3D. It's not something I need to do and therefore haven't researched it. Someone else might know.

There are lots of little phone shops that will do it for you. Google phone flashing and your city to find one near you, or look on craigslist in the phone section...
