Help HTC EVO 4G White Flashing Screen

I have has phone a couple years. Yesterday not sure when but the screen started switching between blank and white screen ( htc EVO 4G). Tried everting I could find on web search but no luck.

does it go from the htc splashscreen and then to the sprint bootanimation?

have you tried to pull the battery out and then put it back in and see if you can boot up?

and lastly are you rooted?

Another thought is, how old is your battery? It's possible that it may be on its last leg and doesn't have enough oomph to power on the device or take/hold a charge.
