Help HTC Evo Boot-up

I recently had some water enter my evo, and after letting it dry in rice for a day, i went to try it back out, and initially, it booted up normally. I tried all the components and everything worked except the volume down button. Later, i turned it on after it died, and it went to the recovery screen where it says "hboot" "fastboot" ect. my problem is, that when i press power on fast boot, it doesnt actually boot. it's like my phone freezes up when it hits that screen. I have tried holding down the volume down button to see if it would load the page differently, but it didnt work. I tried holding volume up to counter it, but it just vibrates 5 times then freezes. I have pulled my battery many times and retried. Any way to get past this??

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like there is still moisture in and around portions of your device. A good thing to do after the dry rice regimen is to take rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab or alcohol wipes to as much of the device as you can get to; that displaces water and dries quickly.

You might try the alcohol right away, but it could be too late if contacts or other things inside where you can't reach are damaged.

It may be time to take the device in for tech support or replacement.
