HTC Evo Complaints

Have YOU tried searching for ANYTHING or did you come straight here to complain?
Again, yes I did research but came up with nothing. I even called tech support and was told there was no at this time to do several of the items. I did download Astro to fix moving items on the phone, but couldn't understand why something that simple wasn't included.

because you can hook it to the computer and shift files that way - I do it all the time. I rather do it that way.. less chance of an error on my end.

You can also take the SD card and put it in the computer as well but I would rather hook mine through the USB cable.

I've given you the best real suggestion of all and that is do your homework, take advantage of all of the information that people on these forums have been kind enough to take time out of their live to provide to people, that is why there is a search bar at the top of the page. I wasn't trying to be a dick but when people start these threads ranting about things that there are easy fixes for clogging up the forums it gets a little ridiculous. The answers are there, people have taken time to provide the info, now take some of your time and do some research, I'm sure after you do you'll wonder how you ever carried that blackberry for so long.
I few of the items might be personal preference like the keyboard. But when you are told by HTC that there is no way to put your name on the screen if you lose it or to voice dial using your headset, you get frustrated. I don't think of those as personal preference, simple things like that should be on phone by default.

You can do it with Astro on the phone. I did admit in my original post I knew I could do a few things on the PC.

I really don't understand why people get offended. I didn't say everyone using an Evo is dumb. But there are some things about the phone I don't like. No phone is perfect, neither the Palm nor the Blackberry were. There were things I wanted to change about them also. Again, there are great things about the Evo, but also some simple things you can't do but should be able to.

If not having your name on the front of the phone is so unbearable that you have to start a thread titled HTC EVO Complaints I'm sorry but that's the way it is. If you don't like it, I suggest you design your own phone for use on Sprints network and tailor it to your exact specs and watch it sell billions.

Dude I answered most of you complaints, and to be honest with you many of the users that were here before this place became flooded and moaning about useless complaints that HAVE fixes or alternatives dont even post anymore. There are so many things the android OS can do compared to the shortcomings many of the complaints are silly. ALSO there is a sticky for TROUBLES with the device. Also YOU HAVE THIRTY DAYS IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED DO NOT USE A DEVICE THAT DOES NOT PLEASE YOU

that's what i thought about the "dust" guy. you two should get together; that'd be a hell of a phone!

I can see it now, the speed and browser(and spellcheck) of a blackberry with a dry erase board as a screen protector so " I can put muh name on it" all wrapped in a ziploc to keep the dust out :D

I would give you credit if that was all I said. But yes, having a name on the screen is important if you lose it. But so is a good battery life, being able to simply save an email message, or delete more then 1 rss message at a time.

If you lose it how are you going to see if your name is on it or not?

I DID NOT say I hated this phone or it was the worst phone ever. It is a great phone, but I don't understand why is isn't able to do a simple feature like save an Exchange email message. That might not be important to you but is to a lot of people. So your answer to things like this is don't buy an Android?

I don't think you're gonna get any advice here, this forum is just for fanboys stroking each other and you cant make any complaints unless you phrase every complaint or issue with "I can't make phone calls BUT I LOVE THE EVO AND ITS THE BEST PHONE EVER" without being told to "go back to the iphone".

Go back to teh iPhone.

If you lose it how are you going to see if your name is on it or not?
With the company I use to work for, all the the phones had a greeting like "If found, please call X Company at 555-5555". It is a great security feature to put your name and some other contact number on the screen. I found I phone once that didn't have something like that. I went through the contacts until someone told me who the phones owner was. If you use the lock pattern on the phone, someone would have no way to even get to your contacts.

Thank you, most are just calling me lazy even though I have had the phone for a week and have spent most of it searching Google, the app store, and forums for answers.

In short, yes. Obviously those things are EXTREMELY important to you. For example, I like cookies, if I went out shopping for a new oven to bake myself some cookies and I found one that had internet, looked sweet, had an awesome touchscreen display, delivered itself to my house and washed my car for me but didn't provide any heat to bake said cookies, I wouldn't buy it because that is a very important feature for me to have in an oven, just like having your name on the front of your phone is a very important feature to you, you see?

Again, you would have a point if that was the only problem. And what is wrong with someone saying, "I like the phone, but"?

Yes, cause I've been using these forums before the evo section degraded into a mass of rampant evo owners who are so invested in their purchase they can't take ANY criticism without getting defensive and acting like jackasses that are on par with apple heads.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, I don't think the phone is perfect either and there were a lot of things I loved about my Blackberry. My point is, it's all in the presentation, you didn't start a thread asking for help about some things you couldn't figure out, you started one titled HTC EVO Complaints in a forum that is full of information and began the thread with a rant of things that you expect every phone to do when in fact all phones don't do everything everyone expects them to do. There a a TON of nice people that are extremely helpful and willing to answer questions but you can't go on and on about how you expect this and expect that and blackberry this and that and think that some people aren't going to be a little bit annoyed by it.

There is a difference between criticism and flat out bitching about something before taking it upon yourself to look for the information before throwing a fit about the phone not being exactly what they want. No phone is perfect and no two companies make phones the exact same way. I for one think everyone's expectations of this phone were far greater than what they should have been, in reality it's still just a phone, and it's impossible to please everyone.

They are are not things I can't figure out, they are things that can't be done. I have spent a lot of time in other forums and even offered others help. Things like setting primary contact numbers for people. I only mentioned Blackberry a few times mostly when someone acted like a feature I wanted was insane. I didn't title my post as Anroid VS Blackberry. It was about things I don't like about the Evo. Being told to root my phone and void the warranty is not really any help.

Why is it bitching to say something like, "Why can't I save an email"? This phone is a piece of crap and can't save emails is bitching.
