HTC EVO out of stock...

I preordered from Best Buy on Friday. How long has everyone else had to wait who preordered from Best Buy recently?
3-4 days here for Evo #3 pre-ordered from Best buy.

While that sounds good, they were REAL pushy on accessories and their insurance. They also gave my mom 2 hours from her getting a phone call letting her know the phone was at the store to come get it or lose her place in line for her Evo.

We made it work but i wasn't too happy with the hard sell.

Yeah, I've heard that about Best Buy. The one big advantage is no mail in rebate required and you get it for $199.

I can get it through Sprint business accounts but I would have to deal with the mail in rebate BS and I know I can get it ordered today and have it by next Monday, but the MIR really turns me off on this.

I just called the Best Buy I preordered my phone for this past Friday and the lady told me she had about 15 preorders (I believe I was number 11) for the black one and that they haven't received it today yet but it was through UPS so they never know when they make their delivery. I REALLY hope I get it sooner rather than later as my Moment is getting worse each day.

i'd go in and try to get one....

you know the old saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

ie a customer with cash in front of me speaks a whole lot louder than a waiting list

Ah, but I was standing right there talking to them. I did end up putting down my deposit and getting onto their list; we'll see how long it takes them to get 6 more in.

I do have a question about the BB waitlist deposit. When I paid my $50, they gave me a $50 gift card in exchange. Is the $50 just to say that I am serious enough to convert money to a gift card? Since I will be using the gift card to buy the Evo (whenever it comes in), couldn't I just get waitlisted at four different Bestbuys and then use all $200 in gift cards to pay for whichever comes first? Not that I'm complaining, but doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of a deposit?

Hmm... I didn't think about that....

This whole thing is such a huge fail by HTC. This phone is in such high demand and no one can find it. Been calling Bestbuy, Sprint and radio shack all over the south bay area in CA and every place has a waiting list with dozens of people. All these companies are trying to make the "iphone killer" but that cant even make enough phones to fulfill demand. I do not want an iphone but here is another reason apple is still king. FAIL!

That sucks... Oh well though. Im sure the Epic will be a great phone. Hopefully HTC learns something from this. There are still lots of people trying to find EVO's.

I keep seeing threads like this pop up here and there. Whats the deal? Sprint stores, Best Buy, no one has HTC evo's in stock? This is like Sprints current flagship phone too.

It would be like Ford not having any F-150's in stock...

dude i'm not gonna lie, ive had the samsung vibrant and it was a great phone and all...WHEN IT WORKED. that damn phone lagged SO MUCH! idk i would just wait for an evo. take it from a guy wholeft the samsung vibrant because of the lag FOR the evo, the evo is MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

The Vibrant didn't seem to lag all that much in the videos I've watched... I would assume the Epic would be about the same. It's not like it's got bad hardware under the hood or anything...

Well, given the hardware the Evo has.. i still even get some serious lag on it sometimes. But its usually something thats my own fault and will be fixed by a restart :D
Sometimes some phones are just laggishly slow. Yes, laggishly.

where do you guys live that there are no EVOs? my local walmart has 5 just sitting in the case. is it really that hard? call them up, lexington va walmart, 5404643535

no really i had the vibrant for 3 days returned it because it would lag EVERYWHERE. then went back and exchanged it for another vibrant, and guess what? more lag! got sick of it, returned it and got the evo. no lag at all. just seems faster and MUCH better hardware feel. also, noah of phonedog also said that the epic 4g does suffer from some lag and has a cheap plasticky feel. idk, just get on some waitlists and you WILL GET IT. guaranteed.

Damn, I got my EVO brand new from Sprint for $50. Anyone want to buy it for $500, are you freaking kidding me?? WTF? $500 hell you can get a hooker for a week for that.

i was in the same boat at you and then my luck finally changed

best buy had the white ones available so i got one of those last weds or thursday, then next day sprint store calls and say they got one for me

and i love it. but i also preordered the epic with sprint so i'm still going go check it out and see how it is but i just like the look and feel of the evo. there's something about the epic look wise i just don't like. and is it really that much better specs and hardware wise

I was on the waiting list for only two days however I work only 5 miles from the sprint store. When they called me I was there in no time flat. I love my evo and will only leave if they're is an evo 2 with even more features that I don't need.
